Artist Statement

Julie Terwelp holds a BFA in Graphic Design with a strong minor in Surface Design from East Carolina University. Her diverse career spans national and regional projects across sports, healthcare, education, and social services. In 2016, Julie discovered a passion for ceramics during her first handbuilding class, igniting a deep enthusiasm for exploring the endless possibilities of shaping clay. As a small-batch ceramic artist, Julie creates one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect her background in graphic and surface design. Her work is characterized by a vibrant interplay of color, pattern, and texture, celebrating the unique beauty of each handcrafted item.
