Born and raised in Alaska, my passion for photography and visual arts started in high school. After graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography, I moved to San Diego and worked full-time for one of the top photographers in the United States, the late Dean Collins. In 1991 I formed my own company, Hansen Photo Inc. and have done commercial advertising photography for many Fortune 500 companies for over 30 years. I was an adjunct professor for photography at Southwestern College in San Diego as well. In 2021, my fiancĂ© Andrea and I relocated to Raleigh. Andrea is a talented multimedia artist and with her encourage I’ve been exploring many other artistic mediums besides photography, including ceramics. We actively work with clay at Finch Pottery in Bailey. I enjoy hand building and sharing my photographic knowledge I’ve gained since picking up a camera over 40 years ago!
