Timothy Cherry will be our presenter at the September 1st meeting. Timothy Cherry holds a Ph. D. in art education from the University of North Texas. His studio concentration was in drawing/painting and, later, fiber. During his long career in education, he has taught art at the elementary, secondary, and higher education levels. He concluded his career with a twenty-one year stint as art teacher at Wake Forest Elementary Magnet School. Tim discovered clay about twenty years ago at Sertoma Art Center in Raleigh and has been addicted ever since. His current work is exclusively hand-built and reflects his long held interests in organic texture, fiber, and Egyptian imagery. Since his retirement he has been teaching hand-building at both Sertoma and Pullen Art Centers.
