Neal O’Briant grew up with the red clay of Raleigh. He makes functional pottery intended for everyday use. Two of his best-sellers are his salt pigs and his ikebana vases. Neal finds inspiration for the forms he makes in the traditional North Carolina pottery he grew up with. His pieces are usually glazed in solid colors with a single glaze. When he breaks from this formula, it’s with geometric carved designs or glazed trailing inspired by traditional Moravian pots.
