Deborah Harris

Deborah Harris has been a full time studio potter in Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 1997. Her pottery education began at local art centers and soon expanded to include workshops at Arrowmont and Penland School of Crafts. She has been fortunate to travel through India, China and Japan observing eastern pottery techniques. These experiences have deeply influenced her work as seen in her forms and glaze palette. Currently she teaches at local pottery centers and gives workshops on Shino glazing techniques and ergonomics for potters. Carbon trap Shino and Chinese black and white ware with Celadon glazes are her on going passion.
